The Vi Peel has been around now for quite some time. It's a fantastic solution for finding smoother skin reducing the appearance of wrinkles, lines, and more. Two times a year is the perfect amount of times per year to have a Vi Peel performed!
What is a VI Peel?
A VI Peel is a chemical peel used to penetrate the top layer of skin, reaching through the layers underneath. The VI Peel exfoliates the skin and stimulates the natural production of ner proteins, which combat signs of aging, improve the skin's texture, and even out pigmentation issues.
What is the perfect amount of time to wait between VI Peels?
As with most cosmetic treatments, the results of a VI Peel will begin to fade over time, needing refreshment to keep the skin looking naturally flawless. We recommend a bi-annual Vi Peel to keep your skin looking smooth, evenly-toned, and beautiful all year round!
Benefits of a VI Peel
Much like we see when micro-needling the skin, superficial damage sparks healing processes, generating beneficial proteins that bring youth, vigor, and elasticity back to the skin.
Fine lines and wrinkles
Is your skin accumulating fine lines and wrinkles at a seemingly-exponential rate? It happens as we age. Chemical peels like the VI Peel break down the top layer of skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production. These proteins give the skin structure and elasticity, making young people look young. It is naturally more active in young people and needs to be sparked by various means to generate high levels at an older age. Chemical peels are one of the ways we can superficially damage the top layer of the skin enough to get the production of collagen and elastin underway.
Sun Spots and asymmetric skin coloration
Another thing chemical peels are used for is to lighten areas of the skin that are otherwise too dark, having been damaged b the sun, or sometimes skin issues like melasma. One of the active ingredients in the VI Peel is known as Phenol. This chemical compound is among the most effective ingredients for treating freckles and skin discoloration, returning or bringing skin to an evenly colored, natural-looking tone for the first time.
Can the VI Peel be used to treat acne?
Medium grade chemical peels like the VI Peel are often used to target an improvement in the appearance of acne. Chemical peels like the VI Peel are usually tolerated by the patient and can be effective. However, much research is still needed to see if the VI Peel is the ideal chemical peel for acne treatment or if another may be a better choice.
In general, chemical peels are used to treat acne in several different ways; they are:
- Reducing the production of oil in the skin
- Killing the bacteria that can infect the surface of the skin to cause acne
- Reduce inflammation associated with acne
- They are breaking down the outer layer of skin. Chemical peels are used not just for the treatment of acne, but the treatment of acne scarring, as well.
- Clearing of the pores
How long do VI Peel results last?
A single VI Peel treatment can last 3-4 months or more in some cases. We recommend, as you can probably tell from the title, that patients have a VI Peel performed bi-annually, also known as every six months. This is perfect for most people who take care of their VI Peel after treatment.
It is essential to note after-care treatment and do what is recommended to you by our staff moving forward to maximize your results' lifespan. If you treat them properly, you can last all year long with beautiful results by having a chemical peel twice a year.
Is a Vi Peel Right for me?
The best candidates for the VI Peel have fair or medium-toned skin and want to improve minor to moderate skin issues like discoloration, acne, and signs of aging. VI Peel is not recommended, in general, to those with darker skin tones due to the risk of hyperpigmentation.
