Are Laser Treatments Effective for Unwanted Hair, Sunspots and Wrinkles?

The laser treatments are one of the best choices you can make. Lasers are used in different areas of medicine, like dermatology, cosmetic surgery, etc. Here we will consider laser hair removal and laser skin treatments.

Unwanted hair

If you’re tired of shaving, plucking or waxing, laser hair removal may be an option for you. A laser will beam light into hair follicles and the hair will be destroyed. The hair can be removed from almost every part of the body.

You should prepare for hair removal because it’s not a simple task. It’s a medical procedure that should be done by a trained professional and has its risks, too.

After the treatment, your skin may feel like it is sunburned and it might swell and develop redness. For about 6 weeks you should avoid your usual depilation methods and direct sunshine.

The treatment has to be repeated several times.

Wrinkles

We can’t avoid wrinkles, but the great thing is that they can be decreased! Wrinkles can be treated around the eyes, mouth or forehead. The facial procedure takes up to 45 minutes. If treating the whole face, it may take up to two hours. After the process, it’s normal to experience swelling or itching.

To decrease wrinkles, we use a technique called “laser resurfacing.” There are two types of this technique: CO2 laser resurfacing and Erbium laser resurfacing.

Ultra puls light energy is used or light beams to remove thin layers of skin.

If you decide to have this procedure, it’s important to avoid certain medications or supplements – aspirin, ibuprofen or certain vitamins — about 10 days before the treatment. Also, you should stop smoking 2 weeks before and after the surgery. Your doctor will talk with you about these things.

Sunspots

Sunspots are very common and advanced by spending lots of time in the sunlight. To remove sunspots successfully, your skin type and other skin conditions must be taken into consideration. The esthetician will apply short pulses of light penetrating deep into the skin. The treatment lasts up to 30 minutes and has to be repeated several times.
